GivingTuesday is a day of radical generosity that encourages people to give
what they can. Created in 2012 as a simple idea to inspire people to do good,
it has since grown into a global movement demonstrating the power of
charity. Every year, millions of people all over the world give, collaborate, and
celebrate.
There are many ways to participate in GivingTuesday and pay kindness forward:
• Donate to organizations whose missions you admire. No amount is too little and nonprofits
especially need community support.
• Help local community aid efforts by donating items or volunteer time to community fridges,
food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and more.
• Support local businesses by making a purchase, shouting them out on social media, or writing
an online review.
• Reach out to a friend, neighbor, relative, or seniors in your community. Isolation brought on by
the COVID- pandemic has left many people lonely -- a phone call or visit goes a long way!
People are also encouraged to give back by advocating for the causes they are passionate about,
both locally and worldwide. There are many GivingTuesday cause-based coalitions that focus on
various causes, cultures, and identities.
Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give. Whether it's showing gratitude
for essential workers, making lunch for the homeless, or leading a GivingTuesday community, your
kindness counts.
