The Migrant Farmworkers Project (MFP), an initiative of
Legal Aid of Western Missouri, has been empowering
Lafayette County's migrant and seasonal farmworkers
since 1984. Our objectives are to:
● Help farmworkers meet emergency material needs.
● Provide health education, health care advocacy,
individual medical and dental case management
and interpretation for farmworkers.
● Provide free and accurate legal advice and/or
representation.
● Promote personal and communal growth and
development through MFP programs like Women's
Group, Youth Group, tutoring, counseling services,
college visits, educational advocacy, leadership
development and access to English and GED
programs.
● Raise community awareness about the lives of
migrant and seasonal farmworkers and the barriers
they face. Call 816.968.2221 to learn more.
