In addition to the aldermen, Mayor Dan Hickson, City Administrator Yvonna Stapleton, City Clerk Larry Neidel and Public Works Superintendent Ed Burns were present for the meeting. Burns discussed issues with the Allen Street project. Poor design of curbs and gutters is resulting in improper drainage at the intersections of Allen and Cooper Streets and Allen and Cliff Streets. Burns discussed plans to meet with engineers to solve the problem and reported back to the board at the next meeting. Charlie Zitnik, D.A. Davidson & Co., spoke to the board members about various options for obtaining a line of credit to assist with funding for the upcoming downtown projects. The line of credit would provide payment assistance for City Hall's new building construction, new light posts in the district, and pouring blacktop on Hudson Street, from 24 Highway to the rail road tracks. Additionally, this money will be used for new sidewalks, curbs, and gutters on Hudson Street from Adams to Washington. This line of credit would consist of a fixed interest rate, with no penalty for early repayment. Zitnik will prepare documents for a line of credit of $1 million to present at the next meeting for approval.
