A: I feel there have been several accomplishments in Buckner, a big one of course is the revitalization of the downtown area. Also, I feel that our Park Board and our Fairs and Festivals committee have come together and produced several exciting events for the City and surrounding area to enjoy. Q: What are your biggest concerns? A: A concern I have is the amount of rumors that get started. I feel if more people would show up to the meetings and get their information from there, a lot of problems could be solved. Q: If you were granted three wishes for Buckner, what would they be? A: If I had three wishes they would be, downtown would boom with business, all of our roads would be fixed, people would flock here from all around because of Q: What's next for the City of Buckner? A: What's next for the City of Buckner is for everyone to jump on and enjoy the ride. We have new businesses going in downtown and several events taking place for people of all ages to enjoy. Take advantage of these things, use the businesses. We have room for more businesses; now may be the time to start your own. Bring the family to the events, and there's always a need for volunteers to help out with events or to think of some more to add. Q: Is there anything else you'd like people to know? A: I would like to add how extremely impressed and proud I am of our administrative staff, police force and public works employees. These individuals have had a large amount of responsibility put upon them and they have handled the tasks gracefully. Thank you. Q: How long have you served as alderman? A: I have served for 3 years. Q: Who or what encouraged you to take this position and why? A: Mayor Dan Hickson encour- aged me to run for alderman of Ward 2. Q: What is the "one thing" that must be accomplished in Buckner and why? A: The "one thing" that must be accomplished in Buckner is to have that small town community again. If I may take a quote from a song, 'Everybody knows every- body, everybody calls you friend. You don't need an invitation, kick off your shoes, come on in.' I feel that this is how a small town can survive. When you have a group of people coming together to better each other's lives, you can't fail. Our Park Board and Fairs and Festivals committee have taken large strides in trying to accomplish bringing people to- gether with all of the different activities they've been putting on like Fireworks in the Park, BBQ cook off, Pickin' in the Park, the rodeo, softball leagues, the Ice Cream Social, the Festival in the Valley and several others. language, lottery and civil rights.
