December 4, 2014 Vol. 1 Issue 16 Band Students to Compete Buckner Clarion PRSRT STD ECRWSS U.S. POSTAGE PAID EDDM RETAIL Local Postal Customer The Submitted by the Fort Osage School District Eight Osage Trail Middle School students auditioned for the Greater Kansas City Middle School All-District Band. The competition was fierce and of the hundreds of area middle school kids who auditioned, Osage Trail had five who were selected for the band. Congratulations to the following 8th graders: ● Hannah Kavanaugh, flute ● Rachel Evans, clarinet ● Kylee Tobin, alto sax ● Spencer Faris, trombone ● Austyn Smith, trombone The students who were selected to the band will practice with the group on December 8 and perform in concert that evening at Park Hill South High School at 6 p.m. Ten Fort Osage High School students auditioned for the KC Metro All-District Band. Over 700 students auditioned and Fort Osage had two selected. Congratulations to the following sophomores: ● Jordyn Krause, clarinet ● Kaitlin Evans, clarinet The students will perform on Saturday, December 13 at Park Hill High School. Fort Osage High school students who received Honorable Mention Band were: ● Junior-Carly Jones, flute ● Junior-Amatay Boutte, horn ● Junior-Aaron Long, percussion option 3 ● Sophomore-Dalton Archer, trombone Top (Fort Osage High School): Jordyn Krause (sophomore); Kaitlin Evans (sophomore); Dalton Archer (sophomore); Aaron Long (junior) Bottom (Osage Trails): Rachel Evans, Kylee Tobin, Hannah Kavanaugh, Spencer Faris, and Austyn Smith (all 8th grade students)
