A special thank you to our advertisers in this issue: Bobby Dean Dean Construction Co. Dean Motor Co. The Firm Insurance Group, Inc. Grace Advertising & Consulting, Inc. Red Cross Pharmacy The Newspaper Association of America reports that last October, the digital audience delivered by U.S. newspaper media peaked at 166 million unique adult visitors–a 17 percent increase from the previous October. Additional statistics from comScore reveal that eight in 10 (80 percent) of [all] U.S. adults online in October 2014 engaged with newspaper digital content; digital newspaper reach is highest among women ages 24-35, where more than nine in 10 (91 percent) access digital news content; and those who use only mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets, for digital newspaper content grew by 85 percent over the past 12 months. In keeping pace with industry trends and ensuring the paper's longevity, The Buckner Clarion is now a digital publication. What this means to our readers is that they can now access the content we publish via their desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. The paper will continue to publish twice a month: the second and last Thursday of the month, with a slightly different schedule during the holiday months of November and December. Our digital readership can expect to engage with video content, listen to audio clips and send feedback about articles they've read–in realtime– through social media. Our display advertisers can expect lower ad rates, with the option to promote their goods and services via Internet commercials that we will produce. As for our senior audience (and any other households) who don't have access to the Internet and/or prefer to read a printed paper, we will print a small quantity of newspapers. For now, you can find them at City Hall, Thriftway and the Buckner Senior Center. We will soon have centrally located outdoor newsstands where the printed paper will be accessible. For those who like to subscribe to the print publication and receive the newspaper by mail or delivery, send an email to subscribe@thebucknerclarion. com, contact us online at www.thebucknerclarion.com/co ntact-us or call 1.866.824.1020 and leave your name and mailing address.
