Lafayette County Health Department has confirmed a total of
86 cases of COVID-19 in Lafayette County to date. Of the 86
total number to date there are 67 recovered, 16 active cases
and 3 deaths
Numbers of total cases reported at the state and federal level
may show differently. This is due to data entry discrepancies in
the state's system.
Per the Governor of Missouri there will be no statewide health
order. All statewide restrictions will be lifted, though local officials
will still have the authority to put further rules, regulations, or
ordinances in place.
While Lafayette and most other rural counties have elected to
follow what the state does and not enact further restrictions,
your health department would like to remind everyone it is
important to remember that the virus is still prevalent. It is up to
us all to take personal responsibility and protect each other.
All individuals are encouraged to continue following social
distancing recommendations. Taking extra precautions to
protect yourself and others when social distancing is the way to
stay smart and safe.
Businesses, agencies and institutions, particularly those with high-
risk and special populations may implement additional safety
measures. This can help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 to protect
employees, patrons and those entering the establishment.
