Of the 86 total number to date there are 67 recovered, 16 active cases and 3 deaths Numbers of total cases reported at the state and federal level may show differently. This is due to data entry discrepancies in the state's system. Per the Governor of Missouri there will be no statewide health order. While Lafayette and most other rural counties have elected to follow what the state does and not enact further restrictions, your health department would like to remind everyone it is important to remember that the virus is still prevalent. It is up to us all to take personal responsibility and protect each other. All individuals are encouraged to continue following social distancing recommendations. Taking extra precautions to protect yourself and others when social distancing is the way to stay smart and safe. Businesses, agencies and institutions, particularly those with high- risk and special populations may implement additional safety measures.
