4 | TheBucknerClarion.com January 2017 This April, The Buckner Clarion (TBC) will turn three years old. Through these years, the publication has experienced the same ebbs and flows as most businesses, but maintained a commitment to the Buckner community to keep publishing. Not only that, TBC once again is mailed to every home and business in the city – a service that our readers appreciate. More recently, we've also added a new hire, who serves as the parent company's (Grace Advertising & Consulting, Inc.) Strategic Account Manager. In this capacity, she also serves as the advertising executive for TBC and Grace Advertising's health and wellness publication, accessHealth News. Meet Teresa Stewart as she introduces herself and her family in her own words: My name is Teresa Stewart. I am a 43-year-old mother of four children and we have lived in Oak Grove, Mo. for 15 years. Shortly after marrying my husband, Mike, we moved to Oak Grove. Based on Mike's refusal to live in a "neighborhood" (country boy) and my need to live within five minutes of a grocery store, we came to a mutual agreement that Oak Grove would be the best place to put down roots and raise our future family. Plus, I have family here too. I attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for my general studies from 1992- 1994. After two years of extreme "social studies" ☺ I chose to move back home and try my luck at the "real world". I found myself naturally drawn to sales and built my career there. I have 15 plus years of sales experience ranging from customer service and inside sales to outside sales and account management. In 2009, my husband and I made the bold decision for me to take a break from my career to pursue my dream of being a "stay-at-home-mom". This decision then lead to us opening our home to foster children in 2011. We have provided a home to over 10 foster children through the years but fell in love with two!! In 2014, we adopted our two daughters, Faith (4.5 yrs old) and Serenity (13 yrs old), to complete our family and our foster care adventure. In March 2016, I joined the Chamber of Commerce in Oak Grove to assist in growing my own business, Rodan + Fields, the #1 premium skincare line in the United States, as well as the opportunity to assist other small business owners. Soon after becoming a member, I ran for a seat on the board of directors and was appointed treasurer. This opportunity has fulfilled my much needed desire to work with others and on a team, while bettering my own community. About a year later, I found myself searching for more. The children are in school during the day, my Rodan & Fields business is up and running. I needed something new but it had to be the right something–nothing that would take me away from my duties as a mother. Then through a mutual friend, I was introduced to Tonia Wright, CEO of Grace Advertising & Consulting and TBC publisher. We immediately hit it off and I felt drawn to get to know her better. Grace Advertising & Consulting, Inc. is a small, woman-owned ad/tech agency that is powered by women. This company believes in leveraging talent and providing an environment for growth, opportunity and business expansion that not only supports revenue creation -- but allows the team to work remotely from home. The majority of us are mothers - flirting with that ever elusive need for work/home balance. As a team, we aim high and achieve success! When offered the position as Strategic Account Manager, I knew it was right. I am so excited to see what the future holds for us! In addition to owning my own business and being the strategic account manager at Grace Advertising, I currently serve on the board of directors for a local charity, Graytful Acres. Mike, and I have been married 14+ years and have four amazing children. Three of my four children attend the Oak Grove School District: Clynton (7th grade), Serenity (7th grade), and Brayson (4th grade)–needless to say, I am constantly involved in activities. We love our little league football, basketball and wrestling teams. My youngest, Faith (4.5 yrs old), attends preschool part-time getting prepared to start Kindergarten. As a family, we are members of New Life Assembly where we serve the Lord and our community every chance we get. All of these things keep me super busy but what I love most is they all serve a greater purpose and that in the end is all that truly matters to me! In the upcoming issues, TBC will introduce more of its team–in their own words. We have been an integral part of the community for almost three years now. It is only fitting that you get to know us as we have gotten to know many of you. As for Teresa, you will see her around town at Buckner Chamber meetings, community events or perhaps at your business promoting advertising opportunities in an issue of TBC. ½ Page AD - 10 X 7.75 TBC Adds Ad Exec to the Team
